Treating Body Acne

If  you're reluctant to uncover during the summer because of body acne, you should find this article interesting:

Body acne can be found on various parts of the body including the back, chest and shoulders, or even the rear end on occasion. With the jury still out on a definitive acne treatment it can be difficult to know what to do about your problem.

For some people, the blemishes on their body can be large and painful and should be seen by a doctor. Most, however, find body acne to be an annoyance rather than painful.

I feel quite embarrassed if I have an outbreak of body acne. One of my ongoing concerns is having blemishes on my back and shoulders during the summer months. I don’t want to spend time keeping in shape, only to feel I can’t wear cool but revealing tops in the summer because of how bad my skin looks. And who wants to cover up when it’s hot?

There are thing you can do to help yourself, though. Body acne can be treated with a few simple steps and there are products that provide treatment for more difficult blemishes. The Clear Skin Regimen is a popular choice for people who have occasional breakouts, but some may want to explore remedies that lead to overall clear skin.

A major ingredient in the treatment of body acne is benzoyl peroxide and it makes for an inexpensive treatment. Some people find it an irritant so decide for yourself whether you wish to use it. One thing to note about peroxide is that it takes the color out of fabrics, so be careful when applying it to the affected area. Make sure your clothing doesn’t touch the peroxide until it’s completely dry.

It would be useful to know what causes outbreaks of body acne, but as with facial acne, there is no simple answer. There are several theories, but none have been proved beyond a doubt. Some body acne can be caused or made worse by an external irritant, for example certain types of fabric. Tight clothing can also cause outbreaks, perhaps because it leads to sweating and clogged pores.

Another area where you can get acne is the neck, but this requires gentler treatment than other parts of the body. The skin on the neck is quite delicate, and if you treat it too much in can aggravate the problem. When dealing with neck acne, treat it as you would do facial acne.

So, don’t despair if you get body acne, especially during the summer months. Find out what treatment works for you and you won’t have to cover up.
